Paul Fulghum, O.D.

Paul Fulghum, O.D. received his Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in 1983 and completed his undergraduate pre-med studies at Valdosta State University, graduating in 1976. He is a board-certified optometric physician who has been practicing optometry since 1983 and whose special fields of interest include primary eye care and the management of ocular disease.

Dr. Fulghum grew up in a medically oriented family with a father who was a flight surgeon in the Navy and a mother who was an x-ray technician. After experiencing a traumatizing event in the fourth grade, his interest was piqued by the psychosomatic correlation between vision loss and stress.

From a young age, Dr. Fulghum has felt that it is his God-given gift and calling to practice optometry. He especially enjoys being able to help people live their lives to the fullest by preserving and restoring vision to those in need.

When Dr. Fulghum is not treating patients, he enjoys trying new restaurants and traveling with his lovely wife, Lynette, to who has been married to since 1977. He is also an avid boater, fisherman, water skier, and golfer. He also takes advantage of any opportunity to visit his daughter, Elizabeth, and spend time watching his two granddaughters grow up.
